How to create web service using C++ REST SDK

Jun 23, 2015 at 1:27 PM
Hi,

I have already C++ code written in DLL and lib. I need to expose my internal C++ API as Restful API.

How I can package it. either as DLL or EXE in Widows platform

I need to provide as SDK to programmer to use it.
How C#/ Donet programmer can use my Web service.

Do I need to host my web service on cloud or they can call my DLL?
How they can use my DLL or EXE on local machine.

I want to avoid using COM.

Hi snahmad75,

You have a lot of questions comments here and I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you are looking for. Are currently using the C++ REST SDK or hitting any issues? This library contains some functionality around authoring an HTTP server, but is mainly focused on connected to existing REST services.

Hi snahmad75,

The C++ REST SDK contains a library only HTTP server that can be used to listen for and process requests, somewhat similar to the HttpListener class in C# although with a lot less features. To learn more about our http_listener class take a look at some documentation here, and the reference documentation. You can also look at the CasaLens sample.

Hi Steve,

ok, I understood. Sample is console app.
I can use http_listener class within DLL as well

Thanks,
