How to setup, build, and run tests on Linux (1.4 and below)

1. Install Ubuntu 12.04 or later.

2. Add the Ubuntu PPA for GCC 4.8:
sudo apt-get install python-software-properties
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test
sudo apt-get update

3. Install all the needed build tools and libraries
sudo apt-get install g++-4.8 git make libxml++2.6-dev libboost1.48-all-dev libssl-dev

4. (Optional) We recommend using g++-4.8 as your default compiler:
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/g++ g++ /usr/bin/g++-4.8 20
sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/gcc gcc /usr/bin/gcc-4.8 20

5. Clone the project using Git (it will be stored in the folder "casablanca"):
git clone

Going forward, you will want to pull from the master branch, which will always contain the last known release.

6. Build the SDK for both debug and release:
cd casablanca/Release
make all

You also can build debug and release flavors individually, with 'make debug', 'make release', and clean with 'make clean'.

7. After building you can run the tests by executing the ./ scripts inside the "Binaries" folder:
cd casablanca/Binaries/Debug32
