Building for iOS weirdness

I'm trying to build REST SDK for iOS and I'm hitting all kinds of problems...

First, I think 'Building Boost' section of 'How to build and setup on iOS' contains errors, as 2nd and 3rd command seem are obsolete.

Then, when I tried adding boost.framework to Frameworks in Xcode project, Xcode complained that "boost.framework is not a framework". But after I added just boost.a located inside boost.framework, linking succeeded.

I admit not being an expert in iOS (as well as admit hating Xcode as the worst IDE ever!), not sure what to make of this "not a framework" error. Is it benign or should I be worried?

I think you should be ok.

I'm opening an issue to investigate this in the future: https://casablanca.codeplex.com/workitem/405.

Could you be specific about which commands are obsolete?

Everything after

To build Boost, use the script provided by the boostoniphone project. The main project author seems to have not continued maintaining the project, however there are a few actively maintained forks. We now recommend using the following repository from faithfracture:
git clone https://gist.github.com/c629ae4c7168216a9856.git boostoniphone
pushd boostoniphone
git apply ../fix_boost_version.patch
./boost.sh
popd
mv boostoniphone/ios/framework/boost.framework .
seems unnecessary...
