C++ Rest SDK 1.4.0 Released

Dec 10, 2013 at 9:41 PM
FYI, today we just added the 1.4.0 release of Casablanca, take a look and try it out. If you are targeting Windows we recommend you try using our Nuget package. It makes managing includes, libs, and dlls a lot easier.

In addition to the regular bug fixing this release includes the following:
  • Json performance improvements, 3x to 4x improvements for parsing, 2x to 3x for serialization. * With more improvements coming in future releases.
  • Added line/column information for Json parsing.
  • Added timeout options to http_listener - only implemented on Windows so far.
  • Added XP and Windows Phone 8 support to our Nuget package for VS 2012.
  • Added a new http_listener sample CasaLens.
  • Added project files for samples for VS 2013.

Hi Steve.

Great work. Really like the Rest SDK lib.
Would it be an idea to list the release changes somewhere else than in the forum so it is easier to see what have changed? Maybe add it to the "Documentation" tab?

Hi Eske,

Glad to hear you like the C++ Rest SDK!

In the Downloads tab, for each release we include the notes there. Even with the notes there, do you still think it is valuable to include a section under documentation as well with all the release notes?

Let us know if you have any questions or issues.

Oh I did not see it in the downloads tab as I did not look there (embarrassed). I just pull from the git repo (that way I can control upgrades better (at least for me)) as I need to build the libs for both linux and windows (and mac os x when I get around to port the app)
So no need to include the a "release" section under the documentation tab.

Completely understandable. We know some people don't want to mess with source so for Windows we produce binaries, but for other people who want to build themselves we try to make it as easy as possible.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Amazing library! Fast and first C++ REST SDK as I know.
But there is one thing that limit us to use it on production servers - https for listener.
If you will realize this functionality it will be great.

Thank you!

Hi Siquell,

Thanks for the positive comments!

Just curious what platforms are you using the C++ Rest SDK on?

Hi Steve,

Right now we are testing functionality under Windows platform, but I thing that release will be under Linux.
So Windows and Linux platforms are important for us.
