I don't find how compile Casablanca with VS2010...

After having read 'Documentation', here is what I do :
  • start the VisualStudio 2010 command prompt
  • navigate to the folder 'Casablanca'
  • write : Powershell -command ".\setup_ps_env100.ps1"
the result seems to be ok with thoses results : "Initializing Casablanca Powershell VS2010 Environment" + "Calling vsvars32"
  • cd Release
  • MSBuild dirs.proj
and then, there is no way to have a good result!
every attempt failed with this message :
C:\Program Files\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\Platforms\Win32\Microsoft.Cpp.Win32.Targets<511,5>: error MSB8008: L'ensemble d'outils de platefrome <v110> n'est pas installé ou n'est pas valide. Vérifiez qu'une valeur PlatformeToolset prise en charge est sélectionnée. [(...)\Release\src\vs11\casablanca110.vcxproj]
That's sound like if is was 'VS2012' and not 'VS2010' who was called...

Hi fthomas54,

It looks like msbuild is not picking up the right toolset for you. I noticed that you're using a French version of VS, with which we did not test our build system.

Can you do the following from the command line:
dir %VS100COMNTOOLS%\vsvars32.bat
and see if the vsvars32.bat exists at the expected location.

If it works, you should be able to invoke the compiler. Please try
cl /Bv
And see if it invokes the compiler version 16.00.40219.1

If you share your results, we should be able to figure out what's wrong.

One other thing you can do is to open Casablanca100.vcxproj in Visual Studio 2010, that will also ensure that the right toolset is picked up.

Just a bit off-topic: I would very happy to see you drop support for VS10 and take more robust adoption of C++11 features.

Yes, it's a bit of a drag, particularly the VS2010 bugs around nested lambdas, but roughly half our downloads are for VS2010, so until user demand subsides, we'll keep supporting it in Casablanca.

hi arturl,

Sorry for having been so long before to answer!
well, "dir %VS100COMNTOOLS%\vsvars32.bat" doesn't respond something good...
in fact, vsvars32.bat isn't found

if I test the value for variable $VS100COMNTOOLS... the value is... EMPTY!

and if I look for vsvars32.bat inside the VisualStudio 2010 directory... i can't found it!

last test made : open the Casablanca100.vcxproj :
result = error C1189: #error: ERROR: Visual Studio 2010 SP1 or later is required to build ppltasks

and sorry for RayHeath but we can't use VS2012 for this project because of many other components only availables for VS2010...

This is strange. Can you compile any other C++ projects?

Can you open VS and go to Help | About Microsoft Visual Studio menu? In the dialog that comes up, what edition and version of the VS is reported there?
